1. ATOL stands for Always Thinking Out Loud. How did that idea first come to life, and what does it mean for every piece you create?
VôTY had the privilege to speak with ATOL short for Always Thinking Out Loud. Let's dive into the vision, values, and thought process behind there brand and latest drop the PPP hoodie.
"Always Thinking Out Loud stemmed from me wanting to know if schizophrenia was truly a genetic disease or something fostered over the course of one’s life cycle.” It was a personal moment that evolved into a philosophy. After watching Studio Ghibli movies with his mom, and especially Ponyo, the visuals of water started influencing the creative direction of the brand. “I chose to make it a goal to reach as many people as humanly possible and show them they can think out loud as well. It truly works and provides a sense of self therapy.”
2. Peace, Power, Prosperity — those aren’t just words, they’re a mindset. What made y’all want to express that message through this new drop?
ATOL took a term like “PPP” and redefined it. “We chose to give those letters a new meaning: Peace, Power, and Prosperity. Something we should all try to live by,” the brand shared. “Like you said, it’s a mindset. Those qualities are proven to enrich your overall outlook on life.” By turning a phrase many associate with 2020 financial relief into something fly and empowering, is one of the truly most impressive and interesting thing i've seen and pull off 100%.
3. How important has your community helped shape where y’all are today?
The founder didn’t hold back on the role the community plays: “Our community is most important and we cherish them dearly. Without their thoughts being generated in this ecosystem, we wouldn’t be where we are today.” From interacting on social media to successful pop up shop they had yesterday, Saturday April 19th. “With every like, share, comment, and support, we reach more members that share the same goal… to leave no thoughts unturned; and to truly THINK OUT LOUD.” That's such a power meaning too, because a lot of people have amazing ideas but are scared to truly say what they think.
4. What was your main way of building hype for this drop, and how did you try to set it apart from the others?
“My first method for building hype for any product is to tease it in person,” he said. For three months, he wore the hoodie around to gauge reactions without any promo or push. “Usually just wearing it around friends to get their initial reaction without any forced influences.” Once the demand was there, he launched an Early Access campaign on Instagram to give loyal followers a head start. “Anyone who received the hoodie while the site was locked gave the world a chance to see what the item looked like on body and create more of a want.”
5. When someone wears ATOL, what do you hope they feel? What kind of energy do you want them to carry?
“I want them to feel inspired,” he said. “Inspired to do more with less. Inspired to wake up. Inspired to actually take out actions on the thoughts they have been dwelling on.” It’s about momentum and energy — sharing positivity that sparks others to act. “When you wear ATOL, you are wearing your thoughts and mindset on your sleeve.” It’s personal. It’s powerful. And it’s meant to move people. Those reason are why we feel like ATOL will be the next breakthrough brand in streetwear.
