What inspired the concept of making the Painter’s Hoodie reversible with such a bold faux fur interior?

“Honestly, it just comes from my preference towards reversible clothing. I’ve always liked the idea of getting two looks out of one piece, it makes things more fun and flexible.

With the Painter’s Hoodie, I wanted to take that even further by making each side look & feel totally different. One side’s more low–key and subtle, while the other side’s bold and loud with faux fur. It gives people two totally different vibes to play with depending on their mood or style that day. The more freedom you have to switch things up and express yourself, the better.”

One side’s laid-back chill, the other side is straight up stunt and pop yo ish. Ame Studios really tapped in with a reversible hoodie that’s not just two-sided — it’s two different moods entirely. Swappable energy just makes it way more versatile.

You chose 250GSM French terry and 300GSM faux fur. How important is fabric weight and feel in your creative process?

“Fabric weight and feel are connected for me. At the end of the day, I always prioritize how something feels when you wear it. Comfort comes first. Everyone wants to be comfortable. I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on how comfortable the previous hoodies were, so keeping that same feel was really important with this one.

Choosing the right fabric weights helps me hit that balance between comfort and style. I want to make something that feels good to wear, but also stands out and looks unique.”

Was the paint-splatter detail done by hand, or is it part of a print process? And if so, would each hoodie end up being unique because of it?

“The paint splatter details are all done by hand, but obviously they’re done so that it won’t wash off. Yes – each hoodie is unique. You won’t find two hoodies that look the same. Each hoodie is a 1 of 1.”

Yeah, this definitely ain’t no screen print. Each hoodie’s got real paint applied by hand, which makes every single one a TRUE 1-of-1. You’re basically rocking wearable art.

With this hoodie being oversized and limited in inventory, what type of person do you envision wearing this hoodie? And could we possibly see a restock in the future?

“To be honest, anyone can wear this hoodie. That’s why it’s reversible. One side is more calm, the other is more expressive. There’s lots of freedom for styling, just be confident.

Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of restocks. I’d rather keep moving forward and showcase newer pieces that I’ve been working on. But obviously, if it’s apparent that a lot of people want a restock, I’ll restock. I had to restock my first hoodie a few times.”
